Faridkot division :- Faridkot division has dists:- Faridkot , Bathinda & Mansa dist.
●Faridkot district was part of Ferozpur district in 1966
famous places : Guru ki Dhab & Tomb of Baba Farid.
the town of Faridkot was founded by Mokalsi.
● Bathinda district: Bathinda is named after Bhati Rajput kings.
Bathinda was once known as Tabar-e- Hind, meaning The Gateway to India.
Bathinda is divided into 3 Tehsils :-
1. Bathinda 2. Rampura Phul 3. Talwandi Sabo
Famous :- Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant - Bathinda
Guru Hargobind Thermal plant- Lehra Mohabbat
Guru Gobind singh refinery ( owned by Hindustan energy ltd.
Famous places:- Qila Mubarak - it has been existence in 90 - 110AD.
it is believed that Raja Dab, along with emperor Kanishka built the fort.

it is lowest literacy rate district in punjab.
it is divided into 3 tehsils :- 1.Mansa 2. Budhlada 3.Sardulgarh.
It is said that Bhai Gurudas found Mansa.
Budhlada - is named after Buddha and Ladha, two brothers.

Patiala Division:- it has Patiala, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Barnala , Fatehgarh Sahib, SAS Nagar
Patiala district :-
famous places :- 1.Qila Mubarak ;inner part was built by Ala Singh and outer part by Maharaja Karam Singh .
2.Moti Bagh palace : was constructed in 1847 by Maharaja Narendra Singh .
3. Sheesh Mahal & Museum : it was built by Maharaja Narendra Singh .
4. Govt. Mahindra college was built by Maharja Narendra Singh .
5.Baradari Gardens : This name was formed with two words of Punjabi Bara and Dar. Bara stands for twelve and dar stands for doors. It means garden with twelve entrances. It was built in a mughal style in 1876 by Rajinder singh
6.Bahadurgarh Fort.
7. Gurudwara Dukhniwaran sahib
8. Kali Temple : built by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh.
9. Punjabi University: It was established on the 30 April 1962, and is only the second university in the world to be named after a language, after Hebrew University of Israel.

Sangrur district :- Sangrur itself was part of Jind State. The most attractive place in Sangrur city is : Banasar Graden.
• Sangrur is divided into 6 tehsils : Sangrur , Sunam, Lehra, Moonak ,Dhuri & Malerkotla .
• Malerkotla :- The town of Malerkotla was devided into two parts – Maler and Kotla. Maler has probably been named after Malher Singh who is said to have been ruling here. He is said to have constructed a Kaccha fort here which was called Malhergarh. It is also said that Malher (now Maler) was founded by Sadr-u-din in 1466 who was Sarwani afghan of Daraband. He was a very pious man and a disciple of Peer Rukha Alam of Multan (Pakistan). He left the Peer and settled at Bhumsi in the remains of the Malhergarh. Behlol Lodhi stayed here on way to Delhi and met Sadr-u-din and was so impressed with him that when he became the King of Delhi, he married his daughter Taj with Sadr-u-din along with 68 villages in dowry. Around the hut of Sadr-u-din he merged Basti. It was named Malher after the fort Malhergarh with later on came to be known as Maler.

Barnala district :- Earlier Barnala was part of Sangrur district , but now Barnala is an independent district.
• in 2006 it became a 20th district of Punjab.
Barnala has 2 tehsils - Barnala and Tapa .
. Two main Industries Trident Group which is mainly known for its world class towels is established in this District. Second a large Industry producing combines, Standard Combines is also established here.

2. Ram Sarup Ankhi (Punjabi: ਰਾਮ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਣਖੀ) was a Sahitya Akademi Award winning.Punjabi writer,novelist and poet of Punjab. He started as a poet but ended up as a fiction writer. He received Sarb Shresht Sahitkaaraward in 2009.
3. Rajinder Gupta (Punjabi- ਰਾਜਿੰਦਰ ਗੁਪਤਾ) (born January 2, 1959), is an Indian businessman. Gupta is Chairman of TridentGroup.

Fatehgarh Sahib :- The district came into existence on 13 April 1992,Baisakhi Day and derives its name fromSahibzada Fateh Singh, the youngest son of 10th Guru Gobind Singh, who along with his brother was bricked-up alive on the orders of Suba Sirhind, Wazir Khan in 1704, and which is now the site of the 'Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib'.
• It has 4 tehsils :- 1. Fatehgarh Sahib.
2. Bassi Pathana 3. Amloh 4. Khamanon .

Ludhiana district :- It is call as financial capital of Punjab.
•it is aslo known as 'Merc City'.
• it is also known as Manchester of Punjab
Name Foundation: Ludhiana or Lodiana, is called after the Lodis, which dynasty ruled at Delhi from A.D. 1451 to1526. The Two Lodi Chief, Yusaf khan and Nihang Khan, deputed by Sikandar Lodi (A.D.1489-1517) to restore order in the region, fixed head-quarters on the present location of Ludhiana city, which was at the time on more than a village called Mir Hota. Legend has it that Yusaf crossed the Satluj to check the Khokhars, who were then plundering the Jalandhar Doab, and settled at Sultanpur; Nihang Khan remained at Mir Hota as the Emperor lieutenant and called the place Ludhiana.
