● befor the Independence in 1947, Punjab had 5 divisions and 29 districts. These 5 division were Ambala , Jalandar , Lahore , Multan and Rawalpindi
• Punjab had 2 division and 13 districts in 1947 ( Ambala and Jalandar)
•Punjab could recevie only 32% of the land mass of United Punjab where rest were 68% went to Pakistane Punjab.
• on 15 july 1948 PEPSU ( Patiala and East Punjab states union ) came into existence . Its had 8 princely states names were :- Patiala, Jind, Nabha , Faridkot, Kapurthala, Kalsia, Malerkotla and Nalagarh.
•In 1956 , PEPSU merged with Punjab.
